The Uniter was a UUCUC newsletter published sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly. Here are announcements from various 1970s issues.


“MRS. JUDY K. SWANN, Lending Library Clerk, would appreciate donations of Betty Crocker Coupons toward replacing the exhausted Coffee Hour spoons. A box to deposit your coupons is on the Lending Library desk.” April 22, 1973


“NOW HEAR THIS!!! Your editor is retiring . As of next week, a new editor will edit the Uniter. Please send, before Sunday, all notices to Claudia Gross, 303 Flora Drive, Champaign, 61820, or (preferably) place notices in the Uniter box before 11:15 of Sunday mornings.” February 3, 1974


“THE ALLIANCE LIGHT HOUSEKEEPING WORK PARTY – is scheduled for Tuesday February 5, 1974 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church. Bring a sack lunch. Coffee and tea will be furnished. If you cannot help us, at least come for lunch at 12:00 and enjoy a social hours. And, as Ed [Rev. Ed Harris] said this morning, ‘There seems to be no Little Red Hens in this group.’” February 3, 1974


“USE OF CHURCH FACILITIES – The Board of Trustees has approved the following group usage of the church facilities: Monument of Hope Church, Kids for Animals, Recovery Program, Association of Humanist Psychologists, Women Against Rape, Democratic Party, Adult Diversion Group, Family Education Association, St. Jude’s Champaign Memorial Society, and overflow groups from Channing-Murray – Tai Chi, Somedancers, and Yoga.” August 22, 1976
